"Known but to god."

Today is Memorial Day. Although I'm off the train. And it's not coming back, haunting me. For so many, they died on the train, haunting their families forever. It is such a somber, sad, and sacred day for any American patriot. But without combat experience, military or paramilitary exposure, and to have not lived that life at any dose, it's impossible to understand.

It's a travesty and disturbance to the seriousness of a culture that so many young & dumb are at Dewey Beach this weekend - living in total disregard and disrespect. At the minimum, if you must drink today, pour one and think of the over 400,00 tombstones at Arlington National Cemetery. The patriots who died in the dirt we honor today - paved the cement of our civilization as it is today—and made the ultaimte investments that yield the peacetime dividends we enjoy today.

The United States enters an era of peacetime dividends drifting back to sea. Other national powers are creeping towards the shores. And the self-curated museum and fantasy that is so many fraternity brothers' lives across America might be asked to answer a call to arms.

And what will they do? Start a podcast to raise awareness of their lack of courage? No technology alters combat, and technology will intensify war. This memorial, more than others in my own life, is a remembrance and a stark reminder. My gut says we are not prepared for a national war.

There is no cavalry of special operations to prevent the inevitability of war, and the only savior from total war may also be our collective tragedy in a nuclear exchange.

There is no "happy Memorial Day" to reflect on.
